The Play
Edward Snowden is holed up in a hotel in Hong Kong. He has left his life in Hawaii, abandoned paradise, for a life on the run. Tortured by thoughts of his girlfriend, his mother and father and the ghosts of other whistleblowers from Chelsea Manning in solitary confinement to Daniel Ellsberg, threatened with 105 years in prison, he waits. But will the CIA and the National Security Agency find him first?
We meet Snowden as a naive rookie eager to fight in the war in Iraq. His computer skills lead him to a world of spooks and surveillance experts. He begins to question the country he loves and was prepared to die for.
